This week has been a great week for Lovelogical – DNA NOT REQUIRED
Many Lovelogically fostered Metropolitan Detroit children started school on Tuesday with HAIRfidence. Our first local event was considered a success!
On Monday, September 3, 2018, Lovelogical was featured on Fox 2 Detroit to discuss HAIRfidence and the re-launch of the Lovelogical website. News anchor, Deena Centofanti, gave me a warm welcoming interview. I felt good knowing Lovelogical was being introduced to Detroit. However, I was anxiously awaiting time to visit salons and meet our special guest – children getting their hair done.
During my interview, I announced remaining appointments open for our viewers. As soon as I turned my phone on in the lobby I received my first call, then my second, third and so on. The first response when I answered the phone was a shock it was me from the news. The second comments were disbelief we were doing girls hair for free!
The best words received was the genuine thank you calls for hosting HAIRfidence. Some from viewers without children.
I checked in with our HAIRfidence Salons and found loving, well spoken, and of course beautiful young ladies and men happy with their hair. Happy with the experience itself.
We found the majority of our special clients had never had their hair professionally done in a salon prior to Hairfidence. For this, I am proud to provide such first.
Each child received “Lovelogical Family DNA NOT REQUIRED HAIRfidence 2018” aluminum dog tag necklaces. Methodist Children’s Home provided the coolest sunglasses, note cards and refrigerator magnets for the kids. Tenia Denard, Licensing Supervisor, was amazing with all she did to help make the day possible. Tenia scheduled appointments and provided rides as well.
Tenia Denard is the reason why the Methodist Children’s Home is the first Charitable Branch on our Lovelogical Tree! As our branch, the Methodist Children’s Home will be gifted with cash leaves from the sales of DNA NOT REQUIRED merchandise for the entire month of September. Their leaves will be delivered in person the first week of October.
I would like to thank everyone who helped make HAIRfidence special! HAIRfidence is an all-volunteer event! What better way to help make a difference than by giving your time?
First, I must thank my children Dalon and Janel for taking care of the salons while I prepped for my interview. My children made me so proud in all of the assistance received prior to HAIRfidence.
I would like to thank the salons, owners, and stylist for supporting our vision!
